What are your program hours?
School begins at 9:00am. We offer part and full time hours extending to 5:30pm
Is there early drop off?
Yes, at 8am at an additional cost.
At what Age does SBDS accept students?
Children may enroll at 20 months, turning TWO by December 31st.
Does my child need to be Potty Trained?
Children do not need to be potty trained entering our Two-year-old program. When educators or parents see signs of readiness we work together to create a plan for your child’s potty training journey. Signs of readiness:
- Child knows he/she has to go “potty”
- Child stays dry for a few hours or wakes from sleep dry
- Child can follow simple directions
- Child can communicate with you when she/ he is soiled
- Child understands pee, poo, potty
- Child wants to do things such as pulling pants down and up by themselves
- Initiates interest in using the potty and asks to wear underwear
Children DO need to be potty trained to enter a Three year old program and older.
Does my child have to nap?
Children staying to 3:00pm or 5:30pm are required to have a rest period of an hour. A two-year-old will begin the nap process at 1:00pm and older children at 1:45pm. Children who do not fall asleep will be given a quiet activity to do on their cot.
How do parents and teachers communicate?
Teachers and parents communicate through email, at pick-up or through the BRIGHGTWHEEL APP.
How long do children play outdoors?
Children are outside for an hour between 9-12, after lunch and after nap for extended day.
Can I tour the school?

1:4 in a twos room with a maximum of 8 children
1:10 3 and older with a maximum of 15 children
What makes the Reggio Emilia approach at SBDS different from most other preschool programs?
We allow children to explore topics in-depth, fostering a more profound understanding of concepts through critical thinking, creativity and problem-solving skills. Our curriculum is flexible, hands-on and child centered. We have a strong emphasis on building and nurturing relationships within our school and community.
