Enrollment Policy

Open enrollment will begin on November 1st, or the first business day after November 1st, of each year. Currently enrolled children will have priority.

Refunds

Deposits are NON-REFUNDABLE. Tuition is NON-REFUNDABLE. If a family withdraws their child for any reason after tuition payments are made, SBDS will refund pro-rated tuition (not deposits) if SBDS is able to fill that child’s spot. If SBDS is not able to fill that child’s spot prior to the start of the academic year, tuition will not be refunded. There will be no refunds of deposits, advance tuition installments, or tuition due to absence, withdrawal or failure to continue in Sound Beach Day School, except under the limited circumstances described below.

Sound Beach Day School may issue a refund, in whole or in part, if a child withdraws from the School due to the School’s inability to provide special services to said child. To qualify for a refund, the child’s special needs and/or necessary services must be identified and documented by a professional and provided to the School to enable the School to determine whether, and the extent to which, such needs may be met and/or such services provided. If the School determines that it is unable to provide the services identified as necessary by a professional, upon written request for a refund, the School will issue a refund less any amounts due for the period of time in which the child was enrolled.

Any request for a refund must be made in writing and submitted to the Director of the School within thirty (30) days of the child’s withdrawal from the School. All appeals for refunds are subject to review.

Withdrawal

Withdrawal for any reason must be made in writing and submitted to the Director of the School. Withdrawal should be made a soon as possible, and no later than two (2) weeks before anticipated date of withdrawal. The deposit or payments made or any installment due and paid at the time of withdrawal will not be refunded, except as specifically stated above.

Discounts

Tuition discounts will apply for families that have more than one child enrolled in the School. Full tuition will be paid for the child enrolled in the program with the highest tuition. A 10% discount will apply for each child thereafter enrolled in a program of equal or lesser value.

Payments

Payments can be made by check or credit card. A credit card number or voided check must be on file so that payments can be applied. By your signature below, you hereby authorize Sound Beach Day School to automatically debit your checking account or charge your credit card in the amount of the installment amount due and owing, if same is not paid within 10 days of the due date (i.e. if the installment is not paid on or before the 10th). This authorization shall be valid unless and until specifically withdrawn in a writing to the Director.

Families are encouraged to speak with the Director if they find themselves unable to keep current with their payment schedule so that a financial agreement can be worked out.

According to program selected, a deposit is required toward tuition, together with a completed registration application form and a registration fee of $25.00 to hold your position.

School Field Trip Authorization:
I give permission for my child to utilize the grass area by the church and the black top area in the front of the school building for group games, craft activities and gross motor skills and music. This area is not inspected or approved by the OEC. The black top area will be blocked off by cones and barriers for child protection.

Medical Care Consent
The Sound Beach Medical consent is as follows:

1. Administering first Aid
2. Attempt to contact a parent or guardian
3. Attempt to contact child’s physician
4. Attempt to contact the parents through any of the persons listed on the emergency information form completed for SBDS. {NOTE: It is the responsibility of the parent to keep this information current.}
5. If the school cannot contact the parent or child’s physician, SBDS will do any or all the following:
a. Call another physician
b. Call for an ambulance
c. Have the child taken to the E.R in the company of a staff member.
6. Any expenses incurred under number 5 will be borne by the child’s family. We do administer EpiPen and Benadryl for allergies in LIFE THREATENING SITUATIONS ONLY. The staff can only administer EpiPen or Benadryl to those who have them prescribed by their physician. All EpiPen and Benadryl must be provided by the child’s parents before the child can attend school.

Please note, we do not have a license to dispense medications.

• SBDS and staff will not be held responsible for anything that may happen because of false information given, or pertinent information withheld.
• SBDS and staff will not assume responsibility for a child who has not signed in when he/she arrives at school for the day.
